Power Electronics - Engineering Co-op

Describe the culture at Alpha using 3 words.

“Innovative, collaborative, experience-focused”

What were some of the projects you were involved with?

“I’m working on doing research and testing for the next-gen products, focusing on power-line communications.”

What do you think was the key take away from your internship?

“You can learn a lot just by asking questions outside your circle, not just staying within your specific team. Going to different teams and learning about other parts of the company as well. If you’re willing to put yourself out there and try different things, you’ll develop skills you didn’t think you needed.”

What is some advice you would give to students looking for a co-op opportunity?

“Well the obvious thing is to learn the academics, but I would also say have interests outside of what you’re doing. Not just engineering but what you like to do outside of that. It’s good to have the interests because it helps you integrate with the team better and it demonstrates personality as well.”

Outside of the office, what can you be found doing?

“I guess like going out with friends and hanging out.”
